A Happy New Year To Everyone
Dec 30th, 2007 by hamant
I hope everyone had a wonderfull Christmas and if you dont celebrate it then I hope you had a wonderfull time with family and loved ones.
For us it always is a time for all our family wherever they are situated to arrive, and have a wonderfull family get together. Catch up on missed times, conversations, see all the family and their little ones that we have not seen for some time.
We usually have a lot of food drink and entertaining. Play with all the children in the family and generally have fun.
Later in the day the kids open up their presents.
Adults in our family dont get presents any more since a few years back when my dear Mom ( passed away 6 years ago) decided it was getting really silly when no one was buying anything with any degree of thought for the person who we were buyin for and everyone was simply dashing all over toen in order to buy “something” because the other person will be buying “something” for them.
There did not seem to be any point in it at all. In fact now that we dont give presents to the adults that is - we enjoy the time better - watching the kids and the joy it brings them. No tension in the air , when in the past you had to just hope that the present you bought was going to be what they wanted! and vice versa.
It’s a great liberating feeling. Just get together , have fun and be merry for each other.
Anyway - I hope you all had a wonderfull Christmas with all the family and loved ones and wanted to Wish you all a Fantastic, Prosperous New Year.

Ps Oh Yes I celebrate Deepvali ( Deewali) as well as I am a Hindu but have always celebrated Christmas since childhood growing up in Zambia.
All the Best !
